Pitch fibre re-rounding
Pitch fibre drainage systems have been causing problems for many years. Their installation is now banned under the current building regulations and alternatives have to be used.
A cost effective alternative
Previously the only option available for remedial action was excavation, which is both costly and time consuming. However, recent advancements now mean that Drain-Spec can re-round deformed or de-laminated pitched fibre pipes in situ, thus making significant savings in time and therefore cost.
The above diagram below shows how partially collapsed pitch fibre pipes can be re-rounded without resorting to excavation.
Once the re-rounding has been completed, a structural drain liner is installed through the run. This adds new strength to the original pitch fibre pipeline and prevents any further deformation.
